Eleven vehicles were recently seized by Dubai Police due to various road violations, including reckless driving, unauthorised rallies, unauthorised modifications to the vehicle’s engine or chassis, disturbing residents, and littering on public roads. Other violations that led to the impounding of vehicles included endangering one’s own life or that of others, causing road disturbances, and disorderly behaviour on the road. To release the impounded vehicles, a fine of Dh50,000 was imposed as per Decree No. 30 of 2023.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, emphasized the zero-tolerance approach towards road violations, stating that the law penalizes violators by impounding their vehicles and taking legal action against them. He stressed that Dubai Police respond decisively to such behaviours and warned motorists of all vehicle types that the law punishes those who endanger their own lives or the lives of others. Al Mazrouei assured the public that police officers will not hesitate to take action against violators to ensure the safety of all road users.

In an effort to combat negative behaviours on the road, Dubai Police encourage community members to report any violations observed through the “Police Eye” feature in the Dubai Police app or by calling the “We Are All Police” service at 901. By actively involving the community in reporting violations, Dubai Police aim to create a safer and more compliant road environment for all drivers and pedestrians. The impounding of vehicles for serious road violations serves as a deterrent to prevent individuals from engaging in dangerous behaviours while on the road.

It is essential for all road users to adhere to traffic laws and regulations in Dubai to ensure the safety of everyone on the road. By cracking down on violations such as reckless driving, unauthorised modifications, and road disturbances, Dubai Police aim to create a culture of compliance and responsibility among motorists. The impounding of vehicles and imposition of fines send a strong message that dangerous behaviours will not be tolerated, and violators will face consequences for their actions.

Through collaborative efforts and community engagement, Dubai Police work towards enhancing road safety and reducing the incidence of dangerous behaviours on the road.
