A red alert has been issued for fog with a drop in horizontal visibility in some parts of the country, while a yellow alert has been issued in other areas for a chance of fog formation. Residents in the UAE are advised to be cautious while driving due to the low visibility caused by the fog. The alert is active from 7.14am to 9.15am in some regions, and motorists are urged to follow the changing speed limits displayed on boards.

Abu Dhabi is currently experiencing foggy conditions, and residents can expect mist and fog to form during the night and Tuesday morning. Abu Dhabi Police have informed that speed limits have returned to normal on all external roads in the emirate, after being reduced to 80kmph on certain roads earlier. Drivers are advised to drive carefully and abide by the speed limits to ensure road safety.

According to a weather forecast by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), fog formation is likely in coastal and internal areas of the country, especially towards the west. The weather is expected to be fair during the day with partly cloudy conditions at times. Light to moderate winds will blow, freshening at times, and the sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.

As summer officially ended and autumn equinox occurred on September 22, temperatures are expected to drop below 25°C at night and below 40°C during the day. Humidity levels will reach up to 90 per cent in coastal and internal areas, while dropping to as low as 15 per cent in the mountains. Today, temperatures are forecasted to range between 28°C and 42°C in Dubai, and between 27°C and 43°C in Abu Dhabi.

In conclusion, residents in the UAE should be mindful of the foggy conditions and potential mist and fog formation in the coming days. It is important for motorists to adhere to the speed limits and drive cautiously to ensure road safety. As temperatures begin to drop with the arrival of autumn, individuals should take necessary precautions to stay comfortable and hydrated during the day. Stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and alerts to be prepared for any changes in weather conditions.
