Excitement and jubilation filled the air as students from British curriculum schools received their IGCSE/GCSE results on August 22. GEMS Education’s British curriculum schools in the UAE and Qatar celebrated their impressive performance in the summer examination season, with over 3,800 students taking more than 26,400 IGCSE/GCSEs. The results were outstanding, with 14% of entries scoring a perfect grade 9 or A, 22% scoring 9-8 (A), 40% scoring 9-7 (A-A), 60% scoring 9-6 (A-B), and 83% graded 9-4 (A*-C).

Notable achievements were seen at Jumeirah College Dubai, where 27% of GCSE entries received the top grade 9 and 85% of students achieved grades 9-6 (A-B). GEMS Wellington International School and GEMS Cambridge International Private School–Sharjah also saw impressive results, with 26% and 45% of entries scoring grade 9 or A, respectively. Other schools such as GEMS Wellington Academy-Silicon Oasis, GEMS FirstPoint School – The Villa, and GEMS Metropole School – Motor City achieved high percentages of entries at grades 9-6 (A*-B).

Dr. Saima Rana, GEMS Education Deputy CEO, congratulated the students and emphasized that their success in the IGCSE/GCSE exams is just the beginning of their educational journey. She highlighted the importance of continued support from teachers and schools as students navigate their future pathways, whether it be A-levels, the IB Diploma Programme, vocational training, or other opportunities. The schools maintained a 100% pass rate across various subjects, reflecting the students’ hard work and dedication.

Rebecca Coulter, principal at Dubai British School Jumeirah Park, expressed delight in the students’ outstanding performance in the GCSE examinations. With 46% of students achieving A* and A grades and a 100% pass rate across all subjects, the school celebrated the students’ hard work and determination. Individual performances surpassed predicted target grades, showcasing the students’ academic excellence. Brett Girven, principal at Dubai British School Emirates Hills, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the overall fantastic experience students had during their time at the school.

The results of the IGCSE/GCSE exams serve as a snapshot of excellence for the students, parents, and teaching staff involved. The schools’ continued focus on academic achievement and holistic educational experiences contribute to the students’ success. As students embark on their next educational journey post-IGCSE/GCSE, the support from teachers and schools will play a crucial role in guiding them towards their chosen pathways. The exceptional performance of students in the exams reflects their dedication and the commitment of the educational institutions in nurturing their talents and academic growth.
