Team Sinclair wins breast cancer awareness event at The Els Club’s

The inaugural Breast Cancer Awareness Ladies Golf Day at The Els Club was a resounding success, with a strong turnout of participants dedicated to raising awareness and supporting a cause close to many hearts. Gemma Sinclair’s team emerged victorious with an impressive score of 60.6 (-11.4), showcasing exceptional skills and teamwork. Following closely behind was the quartet of Ann Archer, Elsie Bruce, Sang-hee Cavanaugh, and Anette Spruit, finishing with a score of 60.9 (-11.1). The event also featured a delightful buffet lunch at the Big Easy where participants shared personal stories and fostered a sense of camaraderie and support.

Ana Kacarsky from Mediclinic attended the event to provide valuable insights on breast cancer symptoms and statistics. She also highlighted a current mammogram promotion available at Mediclinic facilities throughout October, urging all women to prioritize their health. The tournament saw 60 women competing in 15 teams of four players, contributing to a spirit of unity and awareness. This day not only celebrated golf but also empowered women to come together for a meaningful cause, leaving a lasting impact on all participants.

In addition to the golf competition, the event recognized the top-performing teams, with Gemma Sinclair’s team taking first place, followed by Ann Archer’s team in second place and Lisa Brocklebank, Donna Downes, and Emma Malsher Kanjana in third place. The Best Dressed Team award went to Penny Poulton, Kim Morgan, Annette Wolsley, and Julia Goodall. The event was a testament to the power of women coming together to support a cause that affects so many lives, highlighting the importance of raising awareness and promoting early detection of breast cancer.
