StartUp Bahrain Pitch honors innovation by awarding two new winners

StartUp Bahrain recently hosted their highly anticipated Pitch series event with the support of Tamkeen. The event was attended by various industry stakeholders and featured a keynote speech on entrepreneurship by Ayhem Ghanmi, Partner at truffl ventures. The event focused on the Food & Beverage sector and highlighted seven Bahraini startups presenting their innovative ideas, including Maiwa, Loje Patisserie, JERAR, ReQahwa, Grams & Cals, The Salad Bar Café, and Jomon.

After analyzing and evaluating each startup, the judges awarded Grams & Cals first place and Loje Patisserie second place. Feras Alshowaikh, one of the founders of Grams & Cals, expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to present their startup on a national platform. He credited the vibrant startup ecosystem in Bahrain, including support from the Ministry of Industry & Commerce, the Economic Development Board, Tamkeen, and Bahrain Development Bank, for their success. He emphasized the importance of the StartUp Bahrain Pitch bootcamp in enhancing their skills and preparing them for the competition.

The StartUp Bahrain Pitch event served as a valuable platform for startups to gain exposure, secure key opportunities, and build momentum. Winning the competition has given Grams & Cals the push they needed to elevate their startup and continue innovating. The founders are eager to keep growing and expanding their business in the future. This highlights the significance of such events in fostering entrepreneurship and innovation within the startup ecosystem in Bahrain.
