Muscat Governorate Introduces ‘Muscat Inspires Us’ Short Film Initiative

The Muscat Governorate has announced the launch of the “Muscat Inspires Us” short film competition, inviting Omani filmmakers to showcase their creativity and storytelling skills. The competition aims to highlight the governorate’s achievements through short films focusing on key themes such as tourism, community engagement, development, history, culture, sustainable learning, and architectural identity. The initiative is open to directors, producers, students, film companies, photographers, and artists, aiming to develop visual content that reflects the spirit of Muscat while promoting its progress in various sectors.

One of the primary goals of the “Muscat Inspires Us” competition is to foster partnerships with the community, encouraging participants to bring innovative ideas to the forefront. The initiative also aims to establish sustainable practices in film production, promoting ongoing creative exploration in the local film industry. Films submitted to the competition will be evaluated by a jury of industry experts, including members from the Oman Film Society and the Ministry of Information. Winning entries will receive cash prizes, with the top prize being RO 2,500 and other prizes ranging from RO 1,500 to RO 200.

Participants are required to submit original works under five minutes in length, in Arabic with English subtitles, and adhering to local values and customs. Each participant or team is limited to one entry, and submissions can be uploaded to Google Drive and sent to [email protected] with the accompanying QR code.
