The Shura Council in Bahrain is gearing up for its second session of the third ordinary convening of the sixth legislative term. During this session, the Council will establish a committee to draft a response to the Royal Address, as well as the appointments for its permanent specialized committees. Additionally, four members will be elected to represent the Council on the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Group. The results of the elections for the chairs and deputy chairs of the permanent specialized committees will also be announced during this session.

Moreover, the Shura Council will be receiving messages from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister. These messages will include several legislative decrees that have been issued in accordance with Article 38 of the Constitution. Some of the decrees include amendments to existing laws such as Legislative Decree No. (7) of 2024, Legislative Decree No. (8) of 2024, Legislative Decree No. (10) of 2024, and others related to judicial affairs, commercial court, tax regulations, and labor market regulations.

This upcoming session of the Shura Council is significant as it will shape the legislative direction of the country for the near future. The Council plays a crucial role in the decision-making process and represents the voices of the people in the parliamentary system. By electing members to various committees and receiving legislative decrees, the Council is poised to address important issues related to governance, international treaties, and economic development.

The Shura Council’s response to the Royal Address is a key aspect of this session, as it will reflect the Council’s priorities and focus areas for the upcoming term. By establishing a committee to draft this response, the Council aims to ensure that its message aligns with the vision and goals set forth by the Royal Address. This process enables the Council to engage in constructive dialogue and collaboration with the government to achieve common objectives.

Additionally, the appointment of members to the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Group is expected to enhance collaboration and coordination among different parliamentary bodies. By having representation on this committee, the Shura Council can work closely with other governmental entities to address national issues, propose legislation, and ensure effective governance. This collaborative approach will strengthen the overall functioning of the parliamentary system and promote transparency and accountability in decision-making processes.

Overall, the upcoming session of the Shura Council promises to be a productive and impactful gathering that will set the tone for the legislative agenda in Bahrain. With the announcement of key appointments, the receipt of legislative decrees, and the drafting of a response to the Royal Address, the Council is poised to address critical issues facing the country and contribute to its progress and development. As a key legislative body in Bahrain, the Shura Council plays a vital role in shaping the future of the nation and representing the interests of its citizens.
