The Saudi Foreign Ministry has renewed the Kingdom’s condemnation of terrorism in all its forms. They emphasized that all acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustified, regardless of their motives and objectives. Saudi Arabia has been actively combating terrorism by supporting the efforts of the United Nations in commemorating the International Day of Victims of Terrorism. Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Eng. Walid Al-Khuraiji highlighted the efforts made by Saudi Arabia to combat terrorism and extremism. One of the main initiatives was the establishment of the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (EDITAL), which monitors and analyzes extremist thoughts to prevent them from spreading.

Al-Khuraiji also mentioned Saudi Arabia’s ongoing cooperation with the United Nations Human Rights Council. The Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms while countering terrorism has praised Saudi Arabia for its efforts in combating terrorism. Al-Khuraiji stressed the importance of international collaboration to empower all victims of terrorism through education, rehabilitation, support, and care. This includes limiting extremist ideologies and eliminating terrorism from its roots.

The Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister was participating in the United Nations International Conference on Victims of Terrorism in Madrid. The conference focused on the theme “Education as a Tool for Prevention, Peacebuilding, and Empowerment of Victims of Terrorism.” Al-Khuraiji highlighted the significance of education in preventing terrorism and building peace. By empowering victims of terrorism through education, rehabilitation, and support, they can overcome the trauma and work towards eradicating extremism.

Saudi Arabia has been utilizing technological means to combat terrorism and extremism effectively. The Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (EDITAL) plays a crucial role in monitoring and analyzing extremist thoughts to prevent them from spreading. By addressing extremist ideologies at its roots, Saudi Arabia aims to prevent future acts of terrorism and promote peace and stability in the region. The Kingdom’s continuous efforts to combat terrorism were acknowledged by the Special Rapporteur on human rights, praising Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fighting terrorism while upholding fundamental freedoms.

In conclusion, Saudi Arabia’s condemnation of terrorism in all forms showcases its dedication to combatting extremism. By supporting international initiatives and establishing mechanisms like EDITAL, Saudi Arabia continues to work towards eradicating terrorism from its roots. The Kingdom’s participation in the United Nations conference on victims of terrorism underscores its commitment to empowering victims through education and support. Through collaborative efforts with international partners, Saudi Arabia aims to build a peaceful and secure future, free from the threat of terrorism.
