Firms in the UAE can now apply for exemption from administrative fines, as announced by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) on September 6. This move comes as part of a two-month grace period during which establishments can seek relief from fines related to failing to submit employment contracts or renew work permits. Additionally, the Ministry has launched four services aimed at rectifying the status of violating workers and exempting establishments from administrative fines during this grace period.

The services provided by MoHRE include the issuance, renewal, and cancellation of work permits, as well as processing work abandonment complaints. These services are available to individuals with expired work or residency permits, as well as those against whom work abandonment complaints have been filed. The Ministry encourages violating workers and employers to take advantage of the visa amnesty to rectify their status, thus providing an opportunity to continue working in the country and resolve previous violations.

Under the visa amnesty programme, violating workers who choose to leave the country will be exempted from facing legal consequences and financial penalties in accordance with Federal Law. The initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security, aimed at individuals who committed violations before September 1. The Ministry is currently accepting applications to settle the status of violators through its website, mobile app, business service centers, and domestic workers service centers.

The Ministry is committed to processing applications quickly and efficiently around the clock, ensuring that applicants can easily rectify their status through a flexible and smooth process. The visa amnesty programme offers a chance for both workers and employers to regularize their status, avoid legal consequences, and continue working in the UAE. This initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to providing a safe and regulated environment for workers and businesses in the country.

By taking advantage of the visa amnesty programme, both workers and employers can avoid legal consequences and financial penalties while rectifying their status. The two-month grace period allows for the exemption from administrative fines related to various violations, providing an opportunity for individuals to comply with regulations and continue their employment in the UAE. This initiative highlights the government’s efforts to support workers and businesses in the country by offering a flexible and efficient process for resolving status violations.

In conclusion, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation’s announcement regarding the exemption from administrative fines for firms in the UAE is a positive step towards regularizing the status of violating workers and establishments. The visa amnesty programme provides a valuable opportunity for individuals to rectify their status, avoid legal consequences, and continue working in the country. By offering a range of services to assist with work permit issuance, renewal, and status settlement, the Ministry is facilitating a smooth and efficient process for applicants. Overall, this initiative aims to create a safer and more regulated environment for workers and businesses in the UAE, promoting compliance with laws and regulations.
