Public parking in Sharjah will be free on the birthday of Prophet Muhammad on September 15, according to Sharjah Municipality. This exemption does not apply to the seven-day paid public parking zones identified by blue parking information signs. In most Islamic countries, including the Gulf countries, the Prophet’s birthday is observed on 12 Rabi’ Al-Awwal 1444, the third month of the Islamic calendar. Residents can stay updated with the latest news by following KT on WhatsApp Channels. After this holiday, UAE residents will have a long holiday in December for National Day, lasting four days from December 2 to 3.

On September 2, the Sharjah Municipality announced that public parking around Muwaileh commercial area is now subject to charges throughout the week, including public holidays, to manage the high demand for parking spaces in this important residential and commercial district. Blue directional signs have been installed by the Public Parking Management of Sharjah Municipality to inform drivers of the new timings and fees.

This free public parking on the Prophet’s birthday is a gesture from the Sharjah Municipality to provide convenience to residents celebrating this special occasion. It is a common practice in Islamic countries to observe the Prophet’s birthday on the 12th of Rabi’ Al-Awwal, as it is a significant event in the Islamic calendar. Residents can take advantage of this exemption to park their vehicles without any charges in the designated areas on this day.

For UAE residents, the upcoming December holiday provides an extended break to celebrate National Day. With December 2 and 3 falling on a Monday and Tuesday, respectively, along with the regular weekend, residents can enjoy a four-day holiday to celebrate the country’s unity and progress. It is a time for families and friends to come together and participate in various events and celebrations organized across the country.

The decision to implement charges for public parking in the Muwaileh commercial area aims to regulate parking spaces and manage the high demand in this crucial district. By charging for parking throughout the week, including public holidays, the Municipality is able to control the flow of vehicles and ensure a smoother parking experience for residents and visitors. The installation of blue directional signs helps drivers understand the new timings and fees, making it easier for them to comply with the regulations in place.

In conclusion, the free public parking on the Prophet’s birthday in Sharjah offers residents a convenient and cost-effective option to park their vehicles on this special occasion. The upcoming December holiday for National Day also provides a longer break for UAE residents to celebrate the country’s achievements and progress. The implementation of charges for public parking in the Muwaileh commercial area reflects the Municipality’s commitment to managing parking spaces effectively and enhancing the overall parking experience for residents and visitors. By staying informed about the latest news and updates, residents can make the most of these holidays and ensure a hassle-free parking experience.
