The EmSAT exams are optional tests taken in the UAE to assess students of both private and public schools within and outside the country. While it is no longer compulsory to take the test for university admissions in the Emirates as of 2023, many higher education institutions may still require it. The exam covers basic subjects such as Arabic, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science. For students who may need to retake the exam or missed the initial test, there is a process in place to do so.

To be eligible for a make-up test, students must currently be studying in Grade 12 or have completed the grade at institutions within or outside the UAE. For those who were absent with a valid reason, they must upload the excuse online for approval to take the test within 30 days. Students who apply after absence without a valid reason must wait for 30 days from the last test before sitting for the exam. Various documents are required for the reapplication process depending on the student’s situation.

The fee structure for make-up exams varies depending on the student’s nationality and grade level. UAE nationals, children of female citizens, and children of front line defense personnel with the Frontline Heroes card may have the initial attempt for key subjects free of cost. Grade 12 students who are children of frontline defense personnel with the card can retake tests without any fees. UAE citizens in Grade 12 need to pay a fee of Dh100 for retesting, while non-UAE citizens studying in Grade 12 also need to pay the same amount. Non-Grade 12 students are required to pay Dh100 for each subject but are only eligible for one make-up exam.

The process for booking a retest is conducted through the Ministry of Education’s website or the EmSAT website. Students receive immediate confirmation after booking a seat and selecting a date for the exam. It is important for students to stay updated with the latest news on the exam by following KT on WhatsApp Channels. Overall, the EmSAT exam provides an opportunity for students to showcase their knowledge in key subjects and qualify for university admissions in the UAE.
