Transport Minister attends Global Rail 2024 conference in Abu Dhabi

Minister of Transport H E Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti recently attended the Global Rail Transport Infrastructure Exhibition and Conference (GRTIEC) 2024 in Abu Dhabi. The event was opened by H H Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and featured a number of Arab and foreign officials, as well as CEOs of global railroad companies. Minister Al Sulaiti, along with other dignitaries, toured the Ministry of Transport’s pavilion to view mockups and presentations on public bus infrastructure, railroad projects in Qatar, and plans for 100% electrification of public buses by 2030.

Hosted by Etihad Rail, the event focused on transportation, legislation, and enhancing infrastructure with the latest technologies and AI systems. With over 100 exhibitors from around the world, Global Rail provided a platform for key players in transportation and infrastructure sectors to engage and collaborate. Minister Al Sulaiti also used the event as an opportunity to meet with Minister of Public Works of Kuwait and Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning, and Infrastructure of Kosovo to discuss cooperation in transportation, mobility services, railways, and civil aviation.

The event was a significant platform for Minister Al Sulaiti to showcase Qatar’s advancements and future plans in transportation infrastructure. With a focus on the electrification of public buses and the development of rail projects, Qatar is working towards a more sustainable and efficient transport system. The Minister’s presence at the event highlights the government’s commitment to modernizing and improving the country’s transportation network to meet the needs of its growing population.

The Global Rail Transport Infrastructure Exhibition and Conference provided a valuable opportunity for Minister Al Sulaiti to engage with other global leaders in the transportation industry.
