The 14th Global Transport and Transportation Technology Conference and Exhibition (InnoTrans 2024) recently started in Berlin with the theme “The Future of Mobility.” Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is participating for the sixth time, showcasing key projects and initiatives such as the Dubai Metro Blue Line project, smart metro stations, and the unified nol card system for fare payment. This year’s event is the largest in the conference’s history, drawing over 137,000 participants and visitors from 59 countries.
Mattar Al Tayer, RTA Chairman, led the delegation at the event. He toured the exhibition stands focusing on integrated mobility solutions, digital transformation of train infrastructure, and innovations in increasing train capacity. Al Tayer visited the stands of notable companies like CAF and CRRC, learning about emission-free transportation solutions and comprehensive rail transportation offerings.
RTA’s stand at the exhibition highlights various projects, including the Dubai Metro Blue Line project which spans 30 km and connects 14 stations. The stand also showcases suspended transport systems, smart metro stations, railway infrastructure inspection development systems, and crowd management strategies during events. Additionally, passenger flow monitoring systems and fare payment solutions are demonstrated at the stand.
Al Tayer held meetings during the conference, discussing strategic cooperation with Keolis and future participation in the Public Transport Summit. He emphasized the importance of RTA’s participation in InnoTrans 2024, stating that the event aligns with the organization’s commitment to keeping pace with advancements in train manufacturing technology and exploring global expertise in operating public transport systems.
