The NCSA President Takes Part in OIC-CERT Annual General Meeting

National Cyber Security Agency President H E Eng. Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Farahid Al Malki recently attended the eleventh annual meeting of heads and representatives of the National Cyber Security Centers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-CERT) in Muscat. The main focus of the meeting was on the proposed organizational structure of the center and the nomination of the State of Qatar to be a part of the Board of Directors of the OIC-CERTS 2025 – 2028. This meeting highlighted the importance of collaboration among Arab countries to enhance cybersecurity efforts and build capacity in the region.

One of the key points discussed during the meeting was the need to strengthen cyberspace across the Arab region. This included discussions on the OIC-CERT’s work plan and strategies for increasing awareness about cybersecurity threats. By working together and sharing best practices, Arab countries can improve their cybersecurity posture and better protect their digital infrastructure from potential cyber attacks.

Eng. Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Farahid Al Malki emphasized the importance of collaboration among OIC-CERT members to address the challenges of cybersecurity in the region. He highlighted the role of Qatar in promoting cybersecurity initiatives and stressed the importance of information sharing and capacity building to effectively combat cyber threats. By enhancing cooperation and coordination, OIC-CERT members can work together to create a safer and more secure cyberspace for all.

The event provided a platform for participants to exchange ideas and experiences, as well as discuss potential future collaborations in the field of cybersecurity. By sharing knowledge and expertise, OIC-CERT members can enhance their cybersecurity capabilities and stay ahead of evolving cyber threats. Eng. Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Farahid Al Malki expressed his commitment to supporting ongoing efforts to strengthen cybersecurity across the Arab region and affirmed Qatar’s dedication to promoting a safe and secure digital environment for all.

Overall, the annual meeting of the OIC-CERT highlighted the importance of cooperation and collaboration in addressing cybersecurity challenges in the Arab region. By working together and sharing resources, OIC-CERT members can improve their cybersecurity resilience and protect their critical infrastructure from cyber threats. Eng. Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Farahid Al Malki’s participation in this meeting underscored Qatar’s commitment to cybersecurity and its role in promoting regional cybersecurity initiatives.
