The Labour Ministry effectively resolves disputes, unites parties, and boosts market stability

The Ministry of Labour in Bahrain is dedicated to fostering collaboration among company management, workers’ representatives, and government bodies to resolve labour disputes and create a stable work environment. Minister of Labour H.E. Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan praised the role of joint committees in maintaining the rights of all parties involved, enhancing the stability of the labour market, and attracting new investment opportunities to the Kingdom. Since the beginning of 2024, the Ministry’s initiatives have led to a significant reduction in labour complaints, with 764 individual disputes successfully resolved by the end of June.

Efforts are part of a broader strategy to ensure that both employers and workers understand and adhere to their rights and obligations under the Private Sector Labour Law. The provision of 3,211 labour consultations has further supported this goal, helping to prevent misunderstandings and potential conflicts in the workplace. The Ministry’s effective mediation efforts have prevented collective labour disputes from reaching the courts in the past four years, showcasing the success of the collaborative approach in resolving disputes and promoting a harmonious work environment.

The Ministry of Labour continues to play a crucial role in maintaining a harmonious and productive labour market in Bahrain. By ensuring that all parties fully understand their rights and obligations, the Ministry contributes to the stability and growth of the labour market, benefiting both employers and workers. Through its collaborative approach and effective mediation efforts, the Ministry has successfully resolved individual disputes and prevented collective labour disputes from escalating, fostering a positive work environment and attracting new investments to the Kingdom.
