The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in Muscat recently organized a two-day symposium focusing on the “Investment Opportunities in the Omani Encyclopaedia for Youth”. The event aimed to shed light on the importance of the encyclopedia in nurturing national and cultural values in Omani children and shaping their identity. The symposium also aimed to identify crucial opportunities for investing in the encyclopedia from cognitive, technical, and economic perspectives. The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished figures such as Mohammed Said Al Balushi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, and Sayyid Said Sultan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth for Culture.
A key topic discussed during the symposium was “The role of communication means in boosting awareness about local culture, national values, and knowledge treasures in the Omani Encyclopaedia for Youth”. This paper highlighted the importance of utilizing various communication channels to enhance awareness about Omani culture, values, and knowledge resources among the youth.
