The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation in Muscat recently announced that internal scholarship students studying at private higher education institutions in Oman will now be eligible to receive monthly allowances starting from the academic year 2024/2025. This initiative is in line with the generous royal orders of His Majesty the Sultan to support students who meet the eligibility criteria set by the National Support System Committee.

To apply for these monthly allowances, students must meet certain eligibility conditions, which are based on family income and distance from the educational institution. The family income level must align with the standard used for qualifying for electricity support in the National Support System, which equates to an amount of OMR 1,250 per month depending on the number of family members. Students who meet these criteria will receive allowances ranging from OMR 45 to OMR 90 per month, depending on how far they live from the institution.

The Ministry is currently working in coordination with the National Support System Committee to create an electronic link on the National Support System website where students can submit their applications. Once all necessary preparations are complete, the Ministry will announce the opening of the online application link for students to begin the process. It is important for students to keep an eye out for announcements issued by the Ministry regarding the opening of the link and the application process.

The Ministry’s main goal is to provide financial support to internal scholarship students studying at private higher education institutions, as they continue their academic journey. The monthly allowances will help alleviate some of the financial burden on students and their families, allowing them to focus on their studies without worrying about financial constraints. This initiative not only supports the students themselves but also contributes to the overall development of the education sector in Oman.

This is a significant step towards making higher education more accessible and affordable for students in Oman, particularly those studying at private institutions. By providing monthly allowances based on family income and distance from the educational institution, the Ministry is ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder students from pursuing their education and achieving their academic goals. This support system will benefit a large number of students, thereby promoting a positive learning environment and enabling more individuals to access quality higher education in the country.

In conclusion, the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation’s announcement regarding monthly allowances for internal scholarship students studying at private higher education institutions in Oman is a commendable initiative that will make a positive impact on the education sector. By providing financial support to eligible students, the Ministry is not only helping them pursue their academic dreams but also contributing to the overall development of the education system in the Sultanate. Students are encouraged to stay updated on announcements from the Ministry regarding the opening of the application link and take advantage of this opportunity to receive financial assistance for their studies.
