The Aisha Bint Hamad Al Attiyah Hospital (AAH), located in Doha, Qatar, recently welcomed its first babies, Aisha and Hamad, as part of a soft launch of obstetrics and gynecology services. The hospital is set to be fully operational on September 27, offering a range of specialized medical interventions, advanced surgeries, and immediate care for expectant mothers and newborns. The healthcare teams at AAH supported the successful births of the two babies, with each being named after the hospital of their birth.

Both babies’ fathers expressed their gratitude towards the healthcare teams for their professionalism and compassion during this special moment in their lives. They praised the quality of care provided at AAH, with individual private labor rooms creating a welcoming and personalized environment for the birthing process. The relocation of obstetrics and gynecology services from Al Khor Hospital to AAH will ensure better access to specialized care and streamlined services for patients in the surrounding area.

Dr. Ibrahim Fawzy, Medical Director of AAH, highlighted the hospital’s ongoing expansion of services since its opening in 2022. The addition of obstetrics and gynecology services follows recent openings of male physiotherapy and pediatric emergency services, further enhancing the quality of care available at the hospital. With state-of-the-art facilities and specialized medical expertise, AAH aims to provide high-quality care to patients in the region.

Obstetrics and gynecology patients at AAH will benefit from dedicated emergency departments, spacious labor and delivery rooms, a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and various outpatient clinics to support pregnant mothers throughout their maternity journey. Dr. Najah Al Janahi, Senior Consultant Obstetrics and Gynecology at AAH, emphasized the hospital’s commitment to providing exceptional care to mothers, newborns, and families in a compassionate and supportive environment.

HMC’s Ambulance Service will transfer women in labor in the north of Qatar to AAH instead of Al Khor Hospital. This change aims to better address the needs of the surrounding community and provide seamless access to obstetrics and gynecology services. The healthcare teams at AAH look forward to welcoming more patients and newborns, ensuring they receive the highest level of person-centered care during this special time in their lives.
