The Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, recently presided over a ceremony celebrating Omani Youth Day in the Wilayat of Manah. The event included the recognition of winners of the Youth Excellence Award, 5th edition. Additionally, a 3-day Youth Initiatives Exhibition showcased projects in various fields such as finance, education, employment, and more. The ceremony also marked the opening of branches of the Youth Centre in various governorates, aiming to help young people develop their skills.

During the ceremony, five ‘cooperation and partnership agreements’ were signed. Among these agreements was a collaboration with OQ Group to finance a feasibility study for the Youth Centre project. Another partnership agreement was made with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) for the implementation of a program called “musta’id” or ‘Ready’. Partnerships were also formed with Vodafone Company and ITCHA Group, as well as a land investment agreement for a new Youth Centre branch in the Wilayat of Nizwa.

The highlight of the event was the recognition of the winners of the Youth Excellence Award for the year 2024. A total of 21 young individuals were honored for their achievements in categories such as Digital Media, Digital Economy, Environment, Youth Initiatives, and Entrepreneurship. This award aims to celebrate and encourage the talents and contributions of the youth in Oman, recognizing their innovative initiatives and entrepreneurial spirit.

The Youth Initiatives Exhibition featured projects in a variety of fields, including financial technology, education, physical fitness, crafts, environment, media, engineering, and law. This exhibition provided a platform for young people to showcase their ideas and innovations, encouraging creativity and entrepreneurship among the youth in Oman. The event also showcased the commitment of the government to supporting and promoting the youth in the Sultanate.

The signing of the ‘cooperation and partnership agreements’ at the ceremony reflected the government’s efforts to collaborate with various organizations to support youth development initiatives. By partnering with companies like OQ Group, PDO, Vodafone, and ITCHA Group, the Youth Centre aims to provide opportunities for young people to excel in various fields and contribute to the overall development of the country. These partnerships will help in funding projects and programs that benefit the youth and society as a whole.

In conclusion, the Omani Youth Day ceremony in the Wilayat of Manah was a celebration of the achievements and potential of the youth in Oman. The event highlighted the importance of supporting and empowering young people to succeed in various domains. Through initiatives like the Youth Excellence Award, Youth Initiatives Exhibition, and partnership agreements with various organizations, the government is committed to nurturing the talent and creativity of the youth in the Sultanate.
