Bahrain denounces military actions in Iran and urges an immediate ceasefire in the Middle East

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain has issued a statement condemning recent military operations against the Islamic Republic of Iran and expressing concern over escalating tensions in the Middle East. The ministry emphasized the severe implications of these conflicts for innocent civilians and the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the region. It called upon the international community to establish an immediate, comprehensive, and permanent ceasefire in the region and urged all parties to prioritize de-escalation efforts to prevent further spread of war and conflict.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the necessity of revitalizing peace negotiations to achieve regional security and stability while ensuring the rights of all peoples in the region are upheld. It reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering an environment where individuals can live in dignity, safety, peace, and prosperity. The ministry stressed the urgent need for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon, calling for the protection of civilians, safe return to their homes, and the release of hostages and detainees.

Furthermore, the Ministry emphasized the importance of unhindered humanitarian aid delivery in accordance with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions concerning the situation in Gaza. It also reiterated the need for full implementation of Security Council Resolution 1701, pertaining to Lebanon, and adherence to the Taif Agreement. The ministry urged an end to the cycle of violence and mutual escalation to maintain peace and security in the Middle East and the world.

The Kingdom of Bahrain continues to advocate for dialogue and peaceful resolutions to conflicts in the region, reaffirming its commitment to humanitarian principles and safeguarding human rights amid escalating tensions. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for the international community’s responsibility in establishing a ceasefire and preventing further conflict. It highlighted the importance of restraint among all parties involved and prioritizing de-escalation efforts to promote peace and stability.

The statement also emphasized the protection of civilians, their safe return to their homes, and the release of hostages and detainees in affected areas. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for the delivery of unhindered humanitarian aid to those in need and adherence to relevant UN resolutions. It reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to upholding human rights and creating an environment where individuals can thrive in safety and peace.
