The Transport General Authority (TGA) recently released a report stating that the total income of Saudi drivers working in the passenger transport applications sector has exceeded SR1.1 billion in the first nine months of 2024. The report also revealed that the total number of trips carried out by these applications across the Kingdom reached 51.8 million during the same period. The growth rate in the third quarter saw a 41 percent increase compared to the previous quarter, with a 12 percent increase in the total number of trips compared to last year.

The popularity of passenger transport applications in Saudi Arabia is evident, with 46 licensed applications providing transportation services to various cities and regions. The Riyadh region led the way in the number of trips, accounting for 39 percent of the total trips, followed by Makkah with 25 percent and the Eastern Province with 16 percent. The convenience and speed of response offered by these applications have contributed to the increasing demand for transportation services.

With the growing demand for transportation services via applications, the TGA is encouraging young Saudi men and women to consider taking advantage of the opportunities available in the sector. The TGA is urging those who are ready to work full-time to explore the option of becoming drivers for these applications and benefit from financial support provided by the Human Resources Development Fund (HADAF). The flexible work policy of these applications allows individuals to invest their time while earning an income.

Passenger transport applications have become an integral part of modern transportation in Saudi Arabia, offering a safe and comfortable means of transportation that helps reduce congestion and travel time. The TGA’s call for young Saudis to consider working in the sector highlights the importance of providing reliable and efficient transportation services to meet the growing demand in the Kingdom. By taking advantage of the opportunities available, individuals can contribute to the development of the transportation sector while earning a sustainable income.

As the passenger transport applications sector continues to grow in Saudi Arabia, there is a need for more drivers to meet the increasing demand for transportation services. The TGA’s report underscores the potential for individuals, especially young Saudis, to pursue a career in this sector and benefit from the financial support available through the HADAF. The flexible work policy of these applications provides an opportunity for individuals to work full-time while managing their own schedule and earning a competitive income.

In conclusion, the growth of the passenger transport applications sector in Saudi Arabia is a testament to the increasing demand for convenient and efficient transportation services. The TGA’s report highlights the opportunities available for young Saudis to become drivers and benefit from financial support provided by the HADAF. By investing in this sector, individuals can contribute to the development of the transportation industry while also enjoying a sustainable income. With the continued growth of the sector, there is a need for more drivers to meet the rising demand for transportation services in the Kingdom.
