Saudi Arabia’s karate team excels at 2024 World Cadet, Junior & U21 Karate Championships in Venice

Saudi Arabia’s karate team has recently impressed the world by winning seven medals at the 2024 World Cadet, Junior & U21 Karate Championships in Venice, Italy. This achievement has set a new record for the Kingdom and showcased the talent and skill of the team. The championships, which featured categories for cadet, junior, and under-21 competitors, attracted over 1,900 participants from 109 countries, making it a truly international event.

One of the standout performances came from Abdullah Al-Qahtani, who won the gold medal in the Junior Kumite Male +76kg category. He emerged victorious in a close match against Italy’s Federico Supino, with a score of 2-1. Saad Al-Saif also made his mark by securing the silver medal in the Junior Kumite Male -61kg division, while Amro Al-Bargawi claimed silver in the Cadet Kumite Male +70kg category. These athletes demonstrated their dedication and skill on the world stage, earning well-deserved recognition for their achievements.

Abdulrahman Arafat and Bader Al-Bargawi both earned silver and bronze medals, respectively, in their respective categories. Arafat competed in the Cadet Kumite Male -52kg division, while Al-Bargawi triumphed over his opponent from Egypt with a score of 6-2 in the Cadet Kumite Male -70kg category. These results highlight the depth of talent within the Saudi Arabian karate team and their ability to compete at the highest levels of the sport.

Ali Al-Ariani also showcased his skills by winning a bronze medal in the Junior Kumite Male -55kg category. He faced tough competition from Mexico’s Cruz Alejandro but emerged victorious with a score of 16-13. Anas Al-Zahrani rounded off the team’s impressive performance by securing the U21 Kumite Male -84kg bronze medal, defeating his Italian rival with a score of 9-7. These achievements demonstrate the team’s commitment to excellence and their ability to succeed in high-pressure situations.

Overall, Saudi Arabia’s karate team has made a significant impact at the 2024 World Cadet, Junior & U21 Karate Championships, setting a new record for the Kingdom and earning seven medals in total. The team’s success is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and talent, as well as the support they receive from their coaches and fellow teammates.
