The Council of Ministers in Saudi Arabia approved the establishment of 10 private colleges in the country, as announced by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman during a session held in Riyadh. The King expressed his appreciation for the greetings and well-wishes received from leaders of friendly nations on the occasion of Saudi Arabia’s 94th National Day. The Cabinet members praised the King’s annual address, delivered by the Crown Prince, outlining the country’s priorities and goals for the coming year. Additionally, they commended the establishment of the King Salman Non-profit Foundation, reflecting the King’s commitment to humanitarian deeds and sustainable development.

Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary stated that the Cabinet discussed global developments and reiterated Saudi Arabia’s dedication to promoting regional and international security, supporting political solutions to crises, and enhancing multilateral cooperation to address global challenges. The Cabinet welcomed the United Nations General Assembly’s resolution calling for an end to the illegal occupation of Palestinian territories and emphasized the importance of concrete steps towards a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue in line with relevant international resolutions.

The Cabinet expressed hope that the Pact for the Future, adopted by the UN Summit of the Future, would mark a significant milestone in multilateral action. This pact aims to establish a modern and equitable international system that supports sustainable development goals, bridges the digital divide, and strengthens the global financial system. The Cabinet also highlighted the Kingdom’s successful bid for the presidency of the International Coral Reef Initiative as a testament to its recognition in marine environment protection and ecosystem conservation.

In terms of achievements and progress, the Cabinet acknowledged the Kingdom’s impressive results in UN indicators for e-government development and tourism. These accomplishments reaffirm Saudi Arabia’s leading position and commitment to the goals of Vision 2030. In terms of international cooperation, the Cabinet approved several agreements, including the amended protocol for a Saudi-Turkish coordination council, and memorandums of understanding with Ghana and Venezuela in various fields such as exports, culture, and environmental protection.

Furthermore, the Cabinet authorized discussions and agreements with Albania in the field of environmental protection, and with Panama in promoting direct investment. The Ministry of Finance was also authorized to discuss and sign a memorandum of understanding with the French Infrastructure Financing Agency for cooperation in the area of public-private partnerships. These agreements reflect Saudi Arabia’s commitment to strengthening partnerships and promoting collaboration with various countries for mutual benefits and progress.
