RTA announces longer Dubai Metro operating hours in anticipation of busy travel season

The Dubai Metro, operated by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has announced extended operating hours over the weekend. From August 22 to August 24, the metro will run from 5am to 2am, and on August 25, it will run from 8am to 2am. This change is to accommodate the influx of passengers returning from their summer holidays, particularly at Dubai International Airport (DXB), which is expected to handle 3.43 million guests over the next 13 days. Dubai Airports will manage more than half a million guests between August 31 and September 1, with September 1 projected to be the busiest day, accommodating 291,000 guests.

Dubai has seen a record number of visitors in the first six months of this year, with 44.9 million guests welcomed by DXB.
