The RAK Art Foundation recently inaugurated an art exhibition at QGallery in Baku, Azerbaijan, showcasing the works of 20 Bahraini artists. The event drew a large number of Azerbaijani art enthusiasts and was attended by prominent figures such as Leyla Aliyeva and Anar Alakbarov. The exhibition, running until the end of September, features nearly 50 artworks from various generations and art schools within the Rashid Al Khalifa Art Foundation’s holdings. It is part of a broader initiative announced in May, including educational programmes and an artistic exchange with the Azerbaijan State Academy of Art.

Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, President of the RAK Art Foundation, emphasized the significance of the exhibition in promoting Bahraini art and cultural relations between Bahrain and Azerbaijan. He expressed his gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa for their continued support of Bahrain’s cultural scene. Shaikh Rashid also announced plans for future cultural exchanges, such as hosting an exhibition of Azerbaijani artists in Bahrain and establishing art residency programmes to further develop cultural ties between the two countries.

Emin Mammadov, Founder of QGallery, praised the collaboration with the RAK Art Foundation, highlighting the role of art in fostering international friendships and cultural understanding. He expressed enthusiasm for continuing the partnership and exploring further opportunities for cultural exchange between Bahrain and Azerbaijan. Participating Bahraini artists, including Abbas Al Mosawi, Ghada Khunji, and Hala Al Khalifa, commended the RAK Art Foundation’s efforts to promote Bahraini visual art on the international stage and facilitate cultural communication globally.

The RAK Art Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting artists worldwide and promoting international collaborations through exhibitions and cultural initiatives. The Foundation aims to engage communities, educate the public, and foster critical thinking and social dialogue through the arts. The exhibition in Baku is a testament to the Foundation’s commitment to showcasing Bahraini art on a global platform and strengthening cultural ties between Bahrain and Azerbaijan. Through artistic exchanges and residency programs, the Foundation seeks to further enhance cultural communication and understanding between the two countries.

Overall, the RAK Art Foundation’s exhibition at QGallery in Baku represents a significant milestone in promoting Bahraini art on the international stage and fostering cultural relations between Bahrain and Azerbaijan. The event has garnered widespread attention from art enthusiasts in Azerbaijan and beyond, with attendees such as Leyla Aliyeva and Anar Alakbarov. As the exhibition continues to run until the end of September, it serves as a platform for showcasing the talent and creativity of Bahraini artists to a global audience. Additionally, the Foundation’s plans for future cultural exchanges and partnerships promise to further strengthen ties between Bahrain and Azerbaijan through the universal language of art.
