In the Riyadh region, the Saudi security forces recently busted a criminal gang that was involved in transporting and giving shelter to 36 violators of the Border Security Law. The group included 33 Ethiopian nationals and three Yemenis, one of whom was found in possession of firearms, ammunition, money, and GPS devices. The Criminal Investigation and Research Department, in coordination with security authorities, successfully dismantled the criminal network, which consisted of three Saudi citizens and a Yemeni illegal resident. The gang members were arrested from a house and a rest house in Riyadh and Wadi Al-Dawasir governorate, and two vehicles used for transportation were seized from the Jazan and Asir regions.

The arrested individuals were referred to the competent authorities, while those who transported and harbored them were transferred to the Public Prosecution. The Riyadh police spokesman emphasized that anyone found facilitating the entry of violators of the Border Security Law, transporting them within the Kingdom, providing them with shelter, or offering them any assistance or service will face severe penalties. These penalties include a maximum jail term of 15 years, fines up to SR1 million, and confiscation of the means of transportation and housing used for shelter. Additionally, the names of the offenders may be publicized in the local media at their own expense.

The public is encouraged to report any violations of residency, work, and border security regulations by contacting the appropriate authorities. In regions like Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, individuals can call 911, while in other Saudi regions, they can use the numbers 999 and 996. By reporting such criminal activities, citizens can help maintain the security and integrity of the kingdom’s borders and combat illegal immigration and trafficking. It is important for everyone to be vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement to ensure the safety and security of the community.

The successful busting of this criminal gang highlights the ongoing efforts of the Saudi security forces to combat illegal immigration and trafficking within the kingdom. The collaboration between the Criminal Investigation and Research Department, security authorities, and the public has led to the dismantling of this network and the arrest of its members. The use of vehicles for transportation from different regions demonstrates the organized nature of these criminal activities and the need for constant vigilance to prevent such incidents from occurring.

By cracking down on individuals and groups involved in illegal immigration and trafficking, the Saudi authorities are sending a strong message that such activities will not be tolerated. The severe penalties imposed on offenders serve as a deterrent to others who may be tempted to engage in similar criminal behavior. Through public awareness campaigns and encouraging citizens to report any suspicious activities, the authorities can more effectively target and dismantle criminal networks operating within the kingdom.

The dedication of the Riyadh police spokesman and the security forces to upholding the Border Security Law and ensuring the safety and security of the kingdom’s borders is commendable. By taking decisive action against those who violate the law and providing avenues for the public to report such activities, they are working towards a safer and more secure community for all residents. The importance of cooperation between law enforcement and the public cannot be overstated in the fight against illegal immigration and trafficking, and it is essential for everyone to play their part in maintaining the integrity of the borders.
