Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) is making significant strides in northern Syria through its project aimed at improving access to comprehensive nutrition and infant nutrition programs. The project, implemented in northwest Syria, focuses on reducing malnutrition rates among under-five children and pregnant/breastfeeding lactating women. With a large network of specialized health workers operating through eight mobile clinics and six stations in three areas serving 27 communities, the project aims to enhance the quality and coverage of integrated nutrition services, particularly targeting vulnerable groups such as underweight and malnourished infants.

The project offers a range of comprehensive nutrition services, including early detection of acute malnutrition in children, provision of appropriate treatment to prevent serious health complications, and referral to specialized centers for necessary medical care. Special attention is given to addressing moderate and severe wasting among under-five children, as well as pregnant and breastfeeding women. The ultimate goal is to improve the health and nutrition conditions of the most vulnerable individuals in northwestern Syria.
