Qatar News Agency (QNA) has recently announced its plans to expand the use of artificial intelligence (AI) programs in its various departments, in collaboration with Microsoft. The goal is to keep up with the technological advancements taking place globally and to enhance the quality and efficiency of the services provided by the agency. This expansion will involve integrating AI programs into the news services and other specialized tasks of QNA, in order to streamline workflow processes and improve the overall service delivery.

Director-General of QNA H E Ahmed bin Saeed Al Rumaihi emphasized the importance of technology in enhancing service delivery across all sectors, particularly in the field of media. He highlighted QNA’s commitment to continuously adapting and evolving its technological capabilities to better serve its audience. Al Rumaihi also mentioned the agency’s plans to further integrate AI programs into its operational processes in the near future, in order to achieve greater efficiency and effectiveness in delivering news and other services.

QNA has been focusing on leveraging technology to enhance its services, with a particular emphasis on monitoring, analysis, production, publication, and follow-up processes. By incorporating AI programs into its operations, QNA aims to introduce innovative features to its services, especially considering the significant expansion of its news content in recent years. The agency now covers a wide range of local, regional, and international events in multiple languages, with a focus on delivering accurate and timely information to its audience.

The efforts to introduce AI programs into QNA’s operations have received positive feedback from both the public and recipients of its services. This includes the development of digital platforms and digital news services, which have been professionalized to ensure high-quality news content and multimedia elements. In recognition of its innovation in utilizing AI technology, QNA received an award at Microsoft’s exclusive event ‘Leading the Era of AI.’ This award serves as validation of QNA’s commitment to utilizing AI technologies to enhance its media services and improve overall performance.

The Director of the Technical Affairs Department at QNA, Eng Khalid Al Mutawaa, highlighted the benefits of integrating AI programs into the agency’s work processes. These programs will help accelerate the creation of news content across various formats, including written, visual, and audio content, while maintaining the necessary level of accuracy. By saving time and effort, AI programs can enhance the quality of news services provided by QNA, allowing the agency to meet the evolving needs of its audience and stakeholders.

In conclusion, QNA’s decision to expand the use of AI programs in its operations reflects a strategic commitment to leveraging technology for the benefit of its audience and stakeholders. By integrating AI technology into its news services and specialized tasks, QNA aims to improve efficiency, streamline workflow processes, and enhance the overall quality of services provided. This forward-thinking approach not only demonstrates QNA’s dedication to innovation but also positions the agency as a leader in utilizing AI technology to drive excellence in media services.
