Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Chair of the Board of Directors of Visit Qatar H E Saad Bin Ali Al Kharji recently announced the winners of the Qatar Tourism Awards 2024. The event, in its second edition, was attended by distinguished guests including Executive Director of UN Tourism Natalia Bayona and UN Tourism Regional Director for the Middle East Basma Al Mayman. The awards aim to recognize organizations and individuals who are contributing to making Qatar a leading global destination.

Held in collaboration with the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), the Qatar Tourism Awards were established to honor businesses and individuals who excel in customer service and contribute to the tourism industry. This initiative is meant to inspire stakeholders in the industry to adopt outstanding initiatives that focus on uniqueness, sustainability, accessibility, and high-quality service for visitors in Qatar.

In his opening address, Al Kharji highlighted the growing interest in the awards, with over 1,200 applicants being evaluated for their exceptional contributions to the tourism sector. He emphasized Qatar Tourism’s commitment to a clear strategy aimed at making Qatar one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in the region with service excellence at its core.

The Qatar Tourism Awards have become a benchmark of excellence, showcasing the best offerings, services, innovations, and achievements in the tourism sector. This year’s awards have expanded from three to seven categories, aiming for a more comprehensive representation of the visitor experience. The categories include Service Excellence, Gastronomic Experiences, Iconic Attractions, World-Class Events, Digital Footprint, Smart and Sustainable Tourism, and Community Leadership.

A panel of judges meticulously assessed the businesses and individuals in each category to determine the winners. New categories introduced this year include the Tourism Influencer Award, which honors content creators who effectively showcase Qatar’s culture and experiences on a global scale. Winners in various categories include hotels, dining experiences, cultural attractions, events, sustainability initiatives, and outstanding individuals contributing to Qatar’s tourism sector.

The winners of the Qatar Tourism Awards 2024 include businesses and individuals such as Premier Inn Doha Education City, Embassy Suites Doha Old Town, Mandarin Oriental, Zulal Wellness Resort by Chiva-Som, The Cottage, and Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay. Other winners include Hala Eh Sayegh, Karollane Pacheco, Q Moments, Hakkasan, Bayt El Talleh, Evergreen Organics, and Qinwan Premium Dates.

These awards highlight and celebrate the excellence and innovation within Qatar’s tourism sector and recognize the individuals and businesses that are contributing to the growth and development of the industry. The Qatar Tourism Awards serve as a platform to inspire and encourage all stakeholders to strive for excellence in customer service and enhance the overall visitor experience in Qatar.
