The State of Qatar has been actively participating in the ICAO Air Services Negotiation “ICAN2024” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, signing a number of air services agreements and memoranda of understanding with various countries. These agreements aim to expand transport rights and enhance cooperation in the air transport sector. Qatar signed initial air services agreements with Cuba, Malawi, and Suriname, along with MoUs with Cambodia, Canada, and Uganda.

Mohamed Faleh Al Hajri, who leads the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), played a crucial role in signing these agreements during the event. In addition, the QCAA engaged in bilateral talks with the civil aviation authorities of several countries including the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Tanzania, Malaysia, South Korea, Nigeria, and Switzerland. These discussions focused on enhancing cooperation and strengthening ties in the field of civil aviation.

The positive outcomes of the bilateral talks between Qatar and Malawi led to the initial signing of an air services agreement and an MoU in the field of air transport. Similarly, Qatar signed agreements with Suriname and MoUs with Cambodia, Canada, and Uganda. These agreements are set to benefit both countries by expanding transport rights and fostering closer cooperation in the air transport sector.

The signing of these agreements highlights Qatar’s commitment to enhancing international cooperation in civil aviation. By engaging in bilateral talks with various countries, Qatar aims to strengthen its ties with global aviation authorities and promote mutual benefits in the air transport sector. These agreements and MoUs reflect Qatar’s efforts to expand its air services network and enhance connectivity with other countries.

Moving forward, Qatar will continue to engage in discussions and negotiations to further enhance its air services agreements with various countries. By actively participating in international events such as ICAN2024, Qatar demonstrates its commitment to promoting cooperation and collaboration in the global aviation industry. The signing of these agreements marks a significant step towards achieving greater connectivity and efficiency in air transport.

In conclusion, Qatar’s participation in ICAN2024 and the signing of air services agreements with multiple countries signify its dedication to strengthening international cooperation in civil aviation. The agreements signed during the event will facilitate increased connectivity and enhance mutual benefits for all parties involved. Qatar’s commitment to expanding its air transport network and fostering closer ties with global aviation authorities will contribute to the growth and development of the aviation industry on a global scale. Through continued efforts and engagements, Qatar aims to further enhance its position as a key player in the international air transport sector.
