The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority has issued a weather forecast warning for the upcoming weekend from January 2 to January 4, 2025. The forecast predicts strong winds and challenging maritime conditions throughout the three-day period in Doha. The temperatures during this time will remain stable with daily highs of 21 degrees Celsius and overnight lows ranging from 14 to 16 degrees Celsius. The defining feature of the weather will be persistent strong northwesterly winds affecting both coastal and offshore areas.

On Thursday, the forecast predicts northwesterly winds of 10 to 20 knots, increasing up to 30 knots, with poor horizontal visibility due to blowing dust. The maritime conditions will be rough, with waves reaching heights of 3 to 5 feet inshore, potentially increasing to 10 feet offshore. Friday and Saturday are expected to see similar conditions with continued strong winds and high seas. On Friday, there will be northwesterly winds of 8 to 18 knots, potentially reaching 25 knots, while Saturday will see winds of 5 to 15 knots, potentially reaching 23 knots. Offshore waves could reach up to 8 or 10 feet on both days.

In addition to the strong winds and rough seas, the meteorological department also warns of scattered cloud formations throughout the weekend, with a slight chance of light rain on Friday. Residents and visitors are advised to be cautious and protect themselves against the cold winds during this time. It is important to be aware of the weather conditions and take necessary precautions to stay safe. If you plan on heading outdoors during this weekend, make sure to dress warmly and be prepared for the challenging weather conditions.

Overall, the weekend in Doha is expected to be characterized by strong winds, rough seas, and potentially some light rain. With northwesterly winds affecting coastal and offshore areas, it is crucial to stay informed about the weather forecast and take necessary precautions to ensure your safety. Whether you are a resident or a visitor in Doha during this time, it is important to be mindful of the challenging maritime conditions and protect yourself against the cold winds. Stay safe and stay informed as you navigate through the upcoming weekend in Qatar.
