Qatar Joins Urban Search and Rescue Dialogue Workshop in China

The State of Qatar is currently participating in the Asian Cooperation Dialogue Workshop on Urban Search and Rescue in Beijing, China. The workshop, scheduled until August 24, 2024, is being attended by a delegation led by Lt. Col. Mubarak Abdullah Al Muhannadi, Assistant Secretary of the Civil Defense Council, along with officers from the Ministry of Interior and the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya).

The main objective of the workshop is to enhance the skills and capabilities of participants in urban search and rescue operations, as well as to coordinate international efforts in this field. The event also aims to promote constructive cooperation in disaster management and risk reduction. Logistical support, knowledge sharing, and the exchange of best practices among participants are key components of the workshop.

During the workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to attend presentations and visit various training facilities in China. These activities will provide valuable insights and practical experience in urban search and rescue operations. By participating in this workshop, Qatar’s delegation hopes to strengthen its capabilities in responding to disasters and emergencies effectively.

The workshop highlights the importance of collaboration and cooperation among nations in addressing natural disasters and emergencies. By sharing knowledge and experiences, participants can learn from each other and improve their abilities to respond to crises. Qatar’s participation in this workshop demonstrates its commitment to enhancing its emergency response capabilities and contributing to international efforts in disaster management.

Through attending this workshop, Qatar’s delegation aims to enhance its understanding of best practices in urban search and rescue operations and improve its preparedness for potential disasters.
