Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, recently met with HE Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, during his visit to Qatar. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the two nations and exploring opportunities for further development and support. Additionally, they discussed various regional and international issues of mutual interest. The two leaders oversaw the signing of several agreements, including a Memorandum of Understanding on sports cooperation, a Memorandum of Understanding on diplomatic training, a protocol on air transport, and a Memorandum of Understanding on legal cooperation.

The signing ceremony took place at an official reception held at the Amiri Diwan in honor of the Vietnamese Prime Minister’s visit. The Memorandum of Understanding on sports cooperation aims to strengthen ties in the field of sports between Qatar and Vietnam. This agreement is expected to facilitate exchanges, collaborations, and partnerships in various sports-related activities. Furthermore, the Memorandum of Understanding on diplomatic training will enhance the knowledge and skills of diplomats from both countries, fostering a deeper understanding of international relations and diplomatic practices.

The protocol on air transport, amending an agreement signed in 2009, is set to provide a framework for enhancing air connectivity between Qatar and Vietnam. This will lead to improved travel options for passengers and increased trade and tourism opportunities between the two nations. Additionally, the Memorandum of Understanding on legal cooperation between the Ministries of Justice in Qatar and Vietnam aims to strengthen legal frameworks and promote collaboration in the legal field. This agreement will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise, as well as enhance cooperation on legal matters of common interest.

The meeting between the Prime Minister of Qatar and the Prime Minister of Vietnam highlights the commitment of both countries to strengthening their bilateral relations and expanding their cooperation in various fields. By signing these agreements, Qatar and Vietnam have laid the foundation for deeper collaboration in sports, diplomacy, air transport, and legal matters. These agreements reflect the shared vision of both nations to work together towards mutual growth and prosperity. The visit of the Vietnamese Prime Minister to Qatar signifies a new chapter in the relationship between the two countries, setting the stage for enhanced cooperation and partnership in the future.

Overall, the official session of talks between HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and HE Pham Minh Chinh marks a significant milestone in Qatar-Vietnam relations. The signing of key agreements in sports, diplomacy, air transport, and legal cooperation demonstrates the commitment of both nations to expanding their cooperation and fostering closer ties. These agreements not only pave the way for enhanced collaboration but also symbolize the shared values and common goals of Qatar and Vietnam. As both countries continue to work together, they are poised to achieve greater success in their bilateral relations and contribute to regional and international stability and prosperity.
