Oman’s Foreign Minister attends GCC coordination meeting in New York

Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister of Oman, recently attended a coordination meeting of the GCC Foreign Ministers in New York during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The meeting addressed various topics related to the international action agenda of the UN General Assembly and upcoming joint meetings between GCC states and other countries and regional blocs. The focus was on supporting efforts to address regional and international challenges and resolve issues peacefully, including the Palestinian cause and ongoing conflicts in the Gaza Strip.

The Foreign Ministers reiterated their support for dialogue, justice, international law, and the application of the UN Charter in conflict resolution. They emphasized the GCC countries’ commitment to backing efforts to end the war in Gaza and contain current escalations happening on multiple fronts. The ministers also discussed the importance of fostering cooperation and collaboration between GCC states and other countries and regional blocs to address these pressing issues effectively.

The meeting served as a platform for the Foreign Ministers to exchange views and discuss strategies to enhance the GCC’s role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
