Severe weather continues to impact the Sultanate of Oman, with heavy thunderstorms and strong winds affecting several governorates. The Oman Meteorology department has issued warnings for heavy thundershowers, with rainfall amounts ranging from 20-50 mm and the potential for flash floods and hail. The affected areas include North Al Batinah, Muscat, South Al Batinah, South Al Sharqiya, Al Wusta, Al Dakhiliyah, North Al Sharqiya, as well as mountainous regions in Al Dhahirah and Al Buraimi governorates. Residents are urged to take precautions and avoid crossing Wadis (Flash Flood) and low-lying areas.

The Civil Aviation Authority has advised the public to stay alert during the severe weather conditions and to avoid unnecessary risks. The warnings include heavy thundershowers with the possibility of hail, strong downdraft winds with speeds reaching 15-35 knots (28-64 km/h), and increased sea state along the Oman Sea coasts. Additionally, reduced horizontal visibility is expected during the thunderstorms. Dhofar Governorate may also experience isolated rain with rainfall amounts ranging from 10-30 mm, adding to the already challenging weather conditions across the country.

With the ongoing tropical system affecting the region, the Oman Meteorology department continues to monitor the situation and issue updates as needed. The impact of heavy thunderstorms and active winds is widespread, with multiple governorates experiencing adverse weather conditions. The risk of flash floods, hail, and strong winds remains high, prompting authorities to urge residents to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary risks. By staying informed and following safety guidelines, individuals can help minimize the impact of the severe weather on their communities.

In light of the severe weather warnings, residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel. The risks associated with heavy thundershowers, including flash floods and strong winds, pose a threat to public safety. By heeding the advice of authorities and taking necessary precautions, individuals can protect themselves and their families from the dangers of the ongoing severe weather conditions. It is crucial to remain vigilant and prioritize safety during such challenging weather events to minimize the risk of harm and ensure the well-being of all residents in affected areas.

As the severe weather continues to impact the Sultanate of Oman, the Oman Meteorology department emphasizes the importance of preparedness and risk mitigation. By staying informed about the latest updates and following safety guidelines, individuals can effectively navigate the challenges posed by heavy thunderstorms and strong winds. The ongoing monitoring of the tropical system and issuing of alerts by the meteorological authorities are essential in ensuring the safety of the public. By working together and taking proactive measures, residents can weather the storm and emerge stronger in the face of adversity.
