Oman attends the 10th meeting of GCC Endowment Ministers

The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, participated in the 10th meeting of the GCC Ministers of Endowments, Islamic and Religious Affairs in Doha. Dr. Mohammed Said Al Maamari, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs, emphasized the importance of strengthening ties of brotherhood among member states. He highlighted the challenges faced by the region due to global developments and called for cooperation to address these issues. The minister also spoke out against extremism, stating that it deviates from Sharia principles and poses a threat to security and development. He stressed the need to protect societies from harmful ideologies that distort the truth of Islam.

Al Maamari proposed the allocation of an International Day for endowments to raise awareness about their role in promoting social care. The meeting also discussed the importance of research and the exchange of experiences regarding endowments through workshops and conferences. Additionally, there was emphasis on establishing a GCC platform to showcase the true image of tolerance in Islam. The minister’s speech highlighted the significance of addressing the ongoing aggression against Al Quds and Palestine, and the need for collective action to address these rapid developments in the region.

The meeting in Doha provided an opportunity for the participating countries to come together and discuss strategies to maximize benefits for their peoples. It also served as a platform to address pressing issues such as extremism and the protection of societies from harmful ideologies. The proposal for an International Day for endowments highlights the importance of recognizing the role they play in promoting social care. The exchange of experiences through workshops and conferences was identified as key to furthering cooperation and understanding on endowments within the GCC countries.

Dr. Al Maamari’s speech underscored the challenges faced by the region due to global developments and emphasized the need for cooperation to address these issues. He cautioned against extremism, stating that it poses a threat to security and development.
