The National Emergency Management Committee in Dhofar Governorate is taking proactive steps to raise awareness about weather conditions, climate, and tsunami risks through a national campaign. The campaign, which will take place from next Sunday until October 7, aims to target various communities including local, educational, economic, and security sectors. The committee plans to host meetings, seminars, practical exercises, an exhibition, and other events to educate the public about the early warning system for multiple hazards. This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with key government entities such as the Ministry of Information, the Civil Aviation Authority, the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority, the Office of the Governor of Dhofar, the Directorate General of Education, the Directorate General of Social Development, and the Youth Center in Salalah.

One of the main objectives of the campaign is to raise community awareness about the potential risks posed by adverse weather conditions and natural disasters like tsunamis. By engaging with various sectors of society, the committee hopes to equip individuals and organizations with the knowledge and tools they need to respond effectively in times of crisis. The campaign will also serve as a platform to introduce the early warning system for multiple hazards, which is essential for ensuring prompt and coordinated responses to emergencies. Through a combination of educational initiatives and practical exercises, the committee aims to empower communities in Dhofar Governorate to be better prepared and resilient in the face of potential threats.

The partnership with key government entities highlights the collaborative approach that is being taken to address emergency management and disaster preparedness in Dhofar Governorate. By leveraging the expertise and resources of organizations such as the Ministry of Information, the Civil Aviation Authority, and the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority, the committee is able to reach a wider audience and deliver impactful messaging on the importance of being vigilant and prepared for potential hazards. The involvement of the Office of the Governor of Dhofar, the Directorate General of Education, the Directorate General of Social Development, and the Youth Center in Salalah also underscores the commitment to engaging with diverse stakeholders and ensuring that the campaign reaches all segments of society.

The campaign’s emphasis on community engagement is a key strategy for building resilience and promoting a culture of safety and preparedness in Dhofar Governorate. By involving local communities, educational institutions, businesses, and security organizations in the campaign’s events and activities, the committee is fostering a sense of shared responsibility and collective action in addressing emergency management challenges. The practical exercises and seminars planned as part of the campaign will provide hands-on learning opportunities that can help individuals and organizations develop the skills and knowledge needed to effectively respond to emergencies and mitigate risks. Through these efforts, the committee is working to create a culture of preparedness that will benefit all residents of Dhofar Governorate.

The timing of the campaign, which coincides with the approaching winter season when adverse weather conditions and natural disasters are more likely to occur, underscores the importance of being proactive and vigilant in preparing for potential emergencies. By raising awareness about the risks associated with extreme weather and tsunamis, the committee is helping to ensure that residents of Dhofar Governorate are informed and empowered to take action to protect themselves and their communities. The campaign’s focus on education, training, and collaboration is designed to equip individuals and organizations with the tools and knowledge they need to respond effectively to emergencies, ultimately helping to minimize the impact of disasters and save lives. As the campaign unfolds over the coming weeks, the committee will continue to engage with communities in Dhofar Governorate, reinforcing the message of preparedness and resilience in the face of potential hazards.
