Mwasalat, a key player in Oman’s public transportation sector, is taking steps to enhance its services by installing Real-Time Passenger Information (RTPI) Systems at bus stations and stops across the country. This initiative, aimed at improving the overall public transportation experience, will involve the supply and installation of RTPI screens, backend solutions, and ongoing support and maintenance. Interested parties have until August 28 to collect the tender documents for this project.

The RTPI screens will be strategically placed at selected bus stations and standalone stops to provide passengers with real-time information on bus schedules and arrivals. This innovative solution is part of Mwasalat’s efforts to modernize its operations and offer a more convenient and efficient service to the public. In 2023, the company recorded a significant increase in the number of passengers, transporting over 4.5 million individuals, a 40% rise from the previous year.

With an average of 11,700 daily passengers, Mwasalat has been an essential mode of transportation for many residents and visitors in Oman. In addition to its bus services, the company also operates a ferry service that has seen an increase in passenger numbers compared to the previous year. This growth has prompted Mwasalat to focus on infrastructure improvements and network expansion to cater to the growing demand for transportation services across various regions of Oman.

The installation of RTPI systems at bus stations and stops is expected to streamline the public transportation experience and provide passengers with timely and accurate information on bus schedules and arrivals. By leveraging innovative smart solutions like RTPI, Mwasalat aims to enhance the overall efficiency and convenience of its services, making it easier for passengers to plan their journeys and navigate the public transport network in Oman. This initiative is in line with the company’s commitment to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

The tender announcement for the supply and installation of RTPI systems underscores Mwasalat’s dedication to investing in cutting-edge technology and modernizing its operations in line with global best practices. By equipping bus stations and stops with real-time information screens, the company is taking a significant step towards enhancing the overall passenger experience and positioning itself as a leader in the public transportation sector in Oman. The RTPI systems will not only benefit passengers by providing them with up-to-date information but also help Mwasalat optimize its services and improve operational efficiency.

As Mwasalat continues to focus on enhancing its services and meeting the evolving needs of passengers in Oman, the installation of RTPI systems represents a significant milestone in the company’s journey towards modernization and innovation. By embracing technology and smart solutions, Mwasalat is well-positioned to provide passengers with a seamless and convenient public transportation experience while contributing to the overall development of the transportation infrastructure in Oman. With its commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction, Mwasalat is set to further strengthen its position as a leading provider of public transportation services in the Sultanate.
