The Capital Municipal Council in Manama recently held its second regular meeting to discuss preparations for the upcoming rainy season. The Council President, Eng. Saleh Taradah, and Acting Head of the Capital Municipality’s Cleaning Department, Eng. Yusuf Al Banna, led the session. Al Banna presented a detailed report on the municipality’s collaborative efforts with government agencies, particularly the Ministry of Works, to enhance the drainage systems in the Capital Governorate. These efforts aim to improve rainwater flow and minimize flooding by deploying additional water pumps and tankers to remove accumulated water from streets and low-lying areas.

In response to potential disruptions during heavy rainfall, a detailed emergency plan has been developed in coordination with the Ministry of Works. This plan outlines procedures for swift response and mitigation of any issues that may arise. Eng. Al Banna also emphasized the importance of community involvement and awareness in ensuring a smooth rainy season. He encouraged citizens to report any issues promptly to facilitate a proactive response. Despite the challenges, Al Banna expressed optimism that the rainy season will bring benefits to the Kingdom while prioritizing the safety and well-being of all residents.

Eng. Tarada commended the municipality and its partners for their proactive measures in preparing for the rainy season. He highlighted the importance of a comprehensive approach that combines infrastructure improvements with community engagement to effectively manage potential disruptions and maximize the benefits of rainfall. This collaborative spirit between the municipality and stakeholders is crucial for ensuring the smooth functioning of public facilities and roads during heavy rainfall. By investing in modernizing drainage systems and deploying additional resources, the Capital Municipality aims to enhance its readiness for the upcoming rainy season.

The Capital Municipal Council’s focus on preparations for the rainy season underscores the importance of proactive measures to address potential disruptions and ensure the safety of residents. Eng. Al Banna’s report on the municipality’s efforts to collaborate with government agencies and develop an emergency plan reflects a commitment to effective management of the rainy season. By emphasizing community involvement and awareness, the municipality aims to foster a sense of responsibility among citizens in reporting any issues that may arise during heavy rainfall. This collective effort between the municipality, stakeholders, and citizens is essential for maintaining the resilience of the Capital Governorate’s infrastructure and public facilities.

As the Kingdom prepares for the upcoming rainy season, the Capital Municipality’s proactive approach to enhancing drainage systems and deploying additional resources demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding the well-being of all residents. Eng. Tarada’s appreciation for the comprehensive approach to managing the rainy season highlights the municipality’s dedication to balancing infrastructure improvements with community engagement. By working in collaboration with government agencies and other stakeholders, the Capital Municipality is well-prepared to address potential disruptions and ensure the efficient removal of accumulated water from streets and low-lying areas. Overall, the efforts of the Capital Municipal Council reflect a commitment to readiness and resilience in the face of challenges posed by heavy rainfall.
