The Ministry of Public Health in Doha, Qatar has been diligently working to ensure that the healthcare professionals working in the country meet the necessary qualifications and standards. In 2022 and 2023, the Ministry detected 83 individuals who had submitted incorrect or misleading documents in an attempt to obtain a license to practice in the healthcare sector. These individuals have been permanently blacklisted from working in Qatar’s healthcare sector.

Dr. Saad Al Kaabi, the Director of the Healthcare Professions Department at the Ministry of Public Health, explained that most of the deceptive attempts involved falsifying experience documents, such as job titles, years of experience, and the institutions where the professionals had worked. There were also instances of forgery in academic qualifications and misleading results in qualifying examinations. These violations affected various categories and specializations, including doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.

The Ministry of Public Health is committed to using a fair, objective, and transparent methodology when investigating misconduct that undermines the reputation of healthcare professionals and breaches ethical standards. Dr. Al Kaabi emphasized the importance of upholding the integrity of the healthcare profession and ensuring that only qualified and trustworthy professionals are allowed to work in Qatar’s healthcare sector. A blacklist has been created to include healthcare institutions that issue incorrect or misleading certificates to practitioners, and any certificate from these institutions will not be accepted.

It is worth noting that all institutions and healthcare facilities that provided false experience documents are located outside of Qatar. The Ministry of Public Health is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety in the healthcare services provided across the country. By implementing strict oversight efforts and taking decisive action against those who attempt to deceive the system, the Ministry is working to protect the integrity of Qatar’s healthcare sector and safeguard the well-being of its residents.

In conclusion, the Ministry of Public Health’s efforts to verify the qualifications and eligibility of health professionals working in Qatar’s healthcare sector are crucial for upholding the reputation and standards of the profession. By detecting and blacklisting individuals who submit incorrect or misleading documents, the Ministry is sending a clear message that dishonesty and deception will not be tolerated. With a commitment to fairness, objectivity, and transparency, the Ministry is ensuring that only qualified and trustworthy professionals are allowed to practice in Qatar’s healthcare sector. This dedication to maintaining high standards of quality and safety will continue to benefit the residents of Qatar and uphold the integrity of the healthcare profession in the country.
