The Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar recently launched its 2024-2030 strategy under the theme “Igniting the Spark of Learning.” The strategy was officially unveiled by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, in the presence of various ministers, senior officials, and representatives from the education sector. The event featured a video presentation outlining the Ministry’s key objectives for the coming years, all of which are in line with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.

The strategy aims to enhance the quality and attractiveness of higher education for Qataris, with a focus on improving the teaching profession, updating curricula, and developing academic supervision models. It also places a strong emphasis on the role of teachers as the foundation for sustainable development, in line with the Ministry’s new vision of ‘Empowering Learners for a Sustainable Future.’ The Minister of Education and Higher Education, Her Excellency Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, highlighted the importance of the strategy in preparing a resilient generation capable of facing future challenges.

The launch event included an interactive exhibition showcasing the new programmes and objectives of the strategy, offering attendees a hands-on opportunity to learn more about the initiative. Panel discussions were also organised, focusing on key aspects of the strategy and the responsibilities of stakeholders in supporting and achieving its goals. Sessions included topics such as ‘My School, a Beacon,’ ‘Bridging Education and Higher Education,’ and ‘The Teacher’s Journey: Empowerment and Excellence.’

The Ministry’s 2024-2030 strategy aims to advance Qatar’s education sector by providing high-quality education, equal opportunities, and continuous development of teachers’ skills. It seeks to create an educational environment aligned with the latest pedagogical practices, with the ultimate goal of preparing empowered learners who can contribute to sustainable development. The strategy aligns with the aspirations of the Third National Development Strategy and Qatar National Vision 2030, serving as a roadmap for achieving the objectives of the Human Development pillar outlined in QNV 2030.

The strategy addresses all stages of learning, from pre-primary to post-secondary and continuing education, with a comprehensive plan to enhance the skills of teachers and prepare students for the challenges of the future. The Ministry’s vision is to create a generation of learners who are equipped to innovate and excel in education, ultimately contributing to Qatar’s overall development. The interactive exhibition accompanying the launch event provides a unique opportunity for visitors to learn more about the strategy and engage with Ministry specialists to gain further insights.

Overall, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s 2024-2030 strategy represents a significant step towards advancing Qatar’s education sector and preparing future generations for success. By focusing on the teacher as the key to sustainable development and investing in high-quality education, the Ministry aims to create a learning environment that fosters innovation, excellence, and resilience. Through collaborative efforts with partners and stakeholders, the Ministry’s strategy aims to achieve its goals and contribute to Qatar’s vision of a knowledgeable and empowered society.
