The Fareej festival, which translates to “neighborhood” in English, will encompass various sections with different themes including arthouse, art and inspiration, theater, Mal Lawal (of the past), and Al Hosh (backyard). Attendees can expect to explore four art exhibitions, theater performances, art workshops for all ages, cultural seminars, and art studios, all designed to offer a diverse and enriching artistic experience.

According to Huda Al Yafei, the Director of the Visual Arts Center, the Fareej festival aims to celebrate art and creativity by bringing together over 100 local and international artists and designers with diverse styles. This collaboration will contribute to enriching the artistic and cultural scene in Qatar, allowing attendees to discover artworks that reflect the voices of both local and international artists.

Al Yafei further explained that the festival seeks to increase artistic awareness and establish Doha as a major destination for contemporary art. By creating a platform for cultural dialogue between Qatari, local, and international artists, the event aims to highlight different aspects of art and its role in shaping societies. The Fareej festival provides an interactive space for artists and the public to engage in meaningful discussions about art and culture.

The ultimate goal of the Fareej festival for art and design is to become a global platform that celebrates artistic creativity and cultural exchange. By encouraging dialogue between artists and the public, the festival aims to foster a greater appreciation for art and establish Doha as a key hub for contemporary artistic expression. Through this initiative, the organizers hope to create a vibrant and dynamic cultural landscape that showcases the diversity and richness of artistic talent in Qatar and beyond.
