Light rains were scattered over the eastern parts of the country on August 19th, as shown by the Storm Centre. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) had predicted that there would be a chance of rainfall over the east coast due to low clouds. Videos shared by Storm Centre demonstrated heavy drizzles and light rains in the eastern coast of the country. An orange alert was also issued by NCM due to dusty and windy conditions, with fresh winds reaching 40kmph causing blowing dust and sand until 11am on that day.

Abu Dhabi Police urged motorists to exercise caution due to reduced visibility caused by the dust. Drivers were advised not to use their phones while driving to prevent distractions. NCM also issued a yellow alert for fresh winds reaching 40kmph and rough sea in the Oman Sea and Arabian Gulf with waves reaching six feet until 1pm on that day. On Sunday, the weather department issued a yellow alert for fresh to strong winds, reaching 50kmph at times, causing blowing dust and sand.

Residents could expect a partly cloudy day with occasional full cloud cover in some southern and eastern areas. There was a possibility of rain on the east coast due to the presence of low clouds. Temperature highs were expected to reach up to 43ºC and 41ºC in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, respectively, with lows of 26ºC in the mountains. Light to moderate winds, occasionally freshening, were expected to cause dust and sand especially in the northern and eastern areas. The sea was forecasted to be slight to moderate, becoming rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.

The scattered rainfall over some roads in Fujairah was indicative of the unpredictable weather in the eastern parts of the country. The heavy drizzles and light rains captured in the videos shared by Storm Centre showcased the impact of the weather on the region. The orange alert issued by NCM highlighted the potentially hazardous conditions caused by the dust and windy weather.

Motorists were reminded by Abu Dhabi Police to prioritize safety on the roads to prevent accidents due to reduced visibility. The warnings issued by NCM for fresh winds and rough seas cautioned residents to be mindful of the weather conditions. The slightly cooler temperatures in the mountains provided relief from the scorching heat in other parts of the country. Overall, staying informed about the weather alerts and taking necessary precautions was crucial to stay safe during such unpredictable weather patterns.
