The Ministry of Education, through the Directorate-General of Curricular Development, has launched the second phase of the Educational Tools Convoy Initiative ‘Innovation and Communication’ in Muscat. The aim of this initiative is to encourage creativity and innovation among educators by developing low-cost educational programs that enhance the quality of teaching tools. The main committee overseeing the initiative has prepared a timeline for the implementation of the plan. Schools have been informed to submit their initial works from October 20 to 24, with the final evaluation concluding on November 7. The implementation of exhibitions and events will take place in November and December across five governorates.

The first exhibition will be held in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, followed by a stop in Dhofar Governorate and the final stop in Musandam Governorate. The first phase of the initiative was successfully held last year in several governorates across Oman. Dr. Sultan Al Kindi, Assistant Director-General for Educational Resources and Head of the Main Committee, believes that the initiative will have a profound impact on the educational process by highlighting innovations in educational tools and promoting communication and cooperation among experts, teachers, and students. The initiative aims to facilitate the exchange of experiences, suggestions, and observations to develop innovative educational tools.

The initiative includes a mobile exhibition of educational tools in various governorates, showcasing the ministry’s productions and innovations in education. Specialized workshops will be held at each station to enhance teachers’ abilities to use technology effectively in educational settings. The initiative aligns with Oman Vision 2040’s goal of building a comprehensive educational environment that supports the development of future skills among teachers and students. Incentives for the winners include cash prizes, with selected works being developed, produced, and distributed across the Sultanate.

Participation in the initiative is limited to teachers, with each participant allowed to submit one work related to the Omani educational curriculum. The submitted works must meet technical and scientific specifications, including ease of use, motivation for learners, innovation in implementation, and suitability for the target age group. The initiative is supported by various companies and institutions, such as Be’ah, Oman LNG, and Nizwa Office Supplies, as part of a community partnership to support educational projects.

In conclusion, the Educational Tools Convoy Initiative ‘Innovation and Communication’ aims to foster creativity and innovation among educators in Oman. The initiative emphasizes the importance of developing educational tools to enhance teachers’ abilities to use technology effectively in the classroom. By highlighting innovations in educational tools and promoting communication and cooperation among educators, the initiative contributes to achieving the educational goals outlined in Oman Vision 2040. The support of companies and institutions further strengthens the initiative’s impact and promotes community partnerships to support educational projects.
