The “Call for Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza” conference, held in Jordan, emphasized the need for mediation efforts by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States to secure a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. The participants called for immediate and unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid, the release of hostages and detainees, and the creation of a United Nations mechanism within Gaza to expedite relief shipments. They expressed concern over civilian casualties, targeting of civilians and infrastructure, and lack of humanitarian access to those in need.

The conference condemned attacks on UN personnel and humanitarian workers, including numerous attacks on UN schools and buildings sheltering displaced persons. They called for a thorough investigation into these incidents. The communique also denounced ongoing operations in Rafah and attacks on Palestinian refugee camps. The conference rejected forced displacement of civilians within occupied territories and recognized the vital role of UN humanitarian organizations and workers in Gaza.

The participants expressed deep concern over the situation in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, condemning unilateral actions that undermine the two-state solution. The final statement called for an end to operations in Rafah and implementation of provisional measures outlined by the International Court of Justice. It demanded safe and unhindered access to humanitarian aid in Gaza, lifting all barriers and restrictions on aid delivery.

Efforts to ensure continuous provision of humanitarian aid in Gaza were emphasized, consistent with international humanitarian law and Security Council resolutions. The statement highlighted the need for financial, logistical, and supply requirements to address humanitarian needs and resource gaps. Early recovery priorities, including education, health, shelter, nutrition, water, sanitation, electricity, logistics, and communications, were also addressed in the communiqué. It underscored the importance of a coordinated and sustained effort to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Overall, the conference called for urgent action to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and ensure the delivery of essential aid to those in need. The participants highlighted the importance of mediation efforts and the establishment of a UN mechanism to expedite relief shipments. They denounced attacks on civilians and humanitarian workers, calling for accountability for these incidents. The final statement also emphasized the need for immediate and unhindered access to humanitarian aid in Gaza, as well as ongoing efforts to address early recovery priorities. By working together and upholding international law and resolutions, the participants hoped to alleviate the suffering of the people in Gaza and promote peace and stability in the region.
