In January 2024, H M King Harald V of Norway received H E Nadia bint Ahmad Al Sheebi as the non-resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Qatar to Norway, further solidifying the growing relationship between the two countries. The CEO of Yara International emphasized the importance of sustainable production of mineral fertilizers to enhance food production, while the CEO of Hydro highlighted the role of aluminum in reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Meetings between the Minister of Commerce and Industry of Qatar and Norwegian officials further underscored the strong trade relationship between the two countries, with agreements in place to prevent double taxation and fiscal evasion.
