Government Electronic Payments Total 159 Million Dinars in First Quarter of 2024

Recent statistics from the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) show that government electronic payments in Bahrain reached 159 million dinars in the first quarter of 2024. This represents a total of 611,431 financial transactions processed through various government channels. January had the highest volume of payments at 59.7 million dinars, followed by March with 49.7 million dinars, and February with 49.6 million dinars. In 2023, the total value of government electronic payments was 667 million dinars.

The Government Services Contact Center also received a total of 42,200 calls in the first quarter of 2024. January saw 14,600 calls, February had 14,700 calls, and March received 12,800 calls. These statistics offer insights into the increasing use of electronic payments for government services in Bahrain. This indicates a shift towards digital transactions, highlighting the convenience and efficiency of online payment methods. With more people opting for electronic payments, it is essential for government agencies to continue enhancing their digital platforms to meet the growing demand.
