The Government Communications Office (GCO) in Doha, Qatar, recently hosted a course in collaboration with TikTok titled Strategies for Creative Content for communications professionals from various government and semi-government entities across the State of Qatar. The course, which took place from September 29th to October 2nd, aimed to enhance local media capabilities by exploring the latest digital technologies. Twenty-six attendees from 24 different government organizations participated in the initiative, aligning with Qatar’s commitment to fostering a thriving digital ecosystem.

This initiative is part of the State’s broader efforts to promote the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and equip government employees with essential digital skills. It highlights Qatar’s proactive approach to digital transformation and its dedication to building a technologically advanced workforce in line with the Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030. Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani, the Director of GCO, emphasized the importance of building local capabilities and equipping professionals with effective public communication skills to showcase the country’s achievements across all sectors.

The collaboration with TikTok aims to enhance Qatar’s position as a leading destination for innovation and advanced technology across various industries. By partnering with global technology leaders like TikTok, Qatar is working towards building a pioneering communications ecosystem and transforming into a hub of creativity and technology. Shadi Kandil, General Manager of Global Business Solutions at TikTok METAP & EE, expressed the platform’s commitment to nurturing digital talent and fostering innovation globally through partnerships like this capacity-building initiative.

After the training course, Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani awarded certificates to the participants in recognition of their active participation. The course covered key aspects of emerging digital media tools, trends, and their impact, with a focus on TikTok. Participants received personalized training in crafting creative content strategies, content production, and effective publication on the global media platform. This initiative stems from a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between GCO and TikTok during the Middle Eastern edition of Web Summit hosted by Qatar earlier this year.

In conclusion, the Strategies for Creative Content course hosted by GCO in collaboration with TikTok signifies Qatar’s commitment to fostering a digital environment that nurtures talent and drives innovation. By equipping professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge about emerging digital technologies, Qatar is positioning itself as a global hub for creative content creation. Through strategic partnerships with industry leaders like TikTok, Qatar is building a strong communications ecosystem that will contribute to the growth of a robust creative economy in Qatar and beyond.
