Foreign Minister attends ministerial meetings with India, Russia, and Brazil’s Foreign Ministers

The joint ministerial meetings held in Riyadh between the GCC foreign ministers and their counterparts from India, Russia, and Brazil were aimed at enhancing cooperation and partnerships in various fields. Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, the Foreign Minister, participated in these meetings which focused on expanding strategic partnerships in economic, trade, and investment areas. Discussions also included opening new horizons for sustainable growth and addressing regional and international issues of importance.

During the meeting with S. Jaishankar, the Minister of External Affairs in India, the participants reviewed ways to strengthen the relationship between the Gulf nations and India. They explored opportunities for collaboration and growth, emphasizing the importance of working together on mutual interests. The meeting also touched on the regional challenges and developments affecting both regions.

The joint ministerial meeting with Sergy Lavrov, the Foreign Minister of Russia, highlighted the existing relations between the GCC countries and Russia. Discussions revolved around promoting cooperation in various sectors and addressing pressing issues such as the conflict in Ukraine and the situation in the Gaza Strip. The meeting showcased unity in supporting humanitarian efforts and striving towards a just resolution for conflicts based on international law.

In the meeting with Mauro Vieira, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, the focus was on strengthening joint cooperation in political, economic, investment, security, and cultural realms. Both sides discussed ways to expand their partnerships and deepen their collaboration in different areas. The meeting also provided an opportunity to address regional and international developments of mutual interest.

The meetings were attended by dignitaries and officials from Oman, including HH Sayyid Faisal bin Turky Al Said, the Ambassador to KSA, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Hashil Al Maskari, Head of the GCC and Regional Neighbourhood Department. These gatherings reaffirmed the commitment of the GCC countries to fostering ties with their international counterparts and working towards shared goals in the global arena.
