A university in Abu Dhabi is attracting more students from the US who are seeking a multicultural experience and are expressing their desire to return to the UAE for work and living opportunities. This trend is attributed to the Global Education programme at New York University Abu Dhabi, which has become an integral part of the campus’s educational mission and curriculum. Transfer students from the US campus in New York are appreciating the rich, multi-ethnic, and multicultural environment in Abu Dhabi and are encouraging their peers to visit the UAE.

Isaiah Blemur, a student benefiting from NYU Abu Dhabi’s Global Education, shared his profound appreciation for Arab culture and the family-friendly environment in the UAE. His experience has sparked an interest in learning different Arabic dialects and immersing himself in the local culture. He has formed strong connections and friendships in the country, in contrast to the fast-paced lifestyle in New York.

Natalia Oben, another student at NYU Abu Dhabi, is double majoring in Linguistics and Cultural Anthropology. She highlighted the academic offerings at the university that align with her career objectives and interest in Heritage Management and studies. Natalia values the diversity of ethnicities and nationalities at the campus, fostering a greater intercultural understanding and social responsibility.

The faculty at NYU Abu Dhabi emphasized the importance of the university’s Global Education programme in cultivating critical thinking skills and intellectual and social maturation over the years. The programme provides students with well-guided interactions with different cultures, encouraging critical reflection and disciplined analysis. Students are equipped to ask global, human-centered questions and understand the ethical and social consequences of their actions.

The experience of students like Isaiah and Natalia showcases the transformative impact of studying abroad in the UAE. They have developed a deep appreciation for the Arab culture, language, and the diverse community at NYU Abu Dhabi. Their desire to return to the UAE for work and further exploration embodies the success of the university’s Global Education programme in nurturing responsible and culturally aware global citizens.

In conclusion, NYU Abu Dhabi’s Global Education programme is not only attracting students from the US but also providing them with a transformative and enriching academic experience. Students like Isaiah and Natalia are embracing diverse cultures, learning new languages, and developing a strong sense of community in the UAE. The university’s emphasis on critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and social responsibility is preparing students to be global leaders and responsible citizens in an increasingly interconnected world.
